Today, Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to the presidential press service, the parties reviewed the ways to strengthen the bilateral strategic partnership and alliance ties and to advance regional cooperation in the light of upcoming events at the highest level.
The parties reportedly focused on the preparation and holding of meetings within the framework of the program of the next SCO Summit in mid-September to be held in Samarkand.
In addition, the two leaders discussed the practical aspects of promoting joint projects and programs, primarily in the trade, economic and investment areas and noted the importance of continuing active contacts and exchanges at the level of governments and departments.
They also supported the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between the provinces of Uzbekistan and Russia and attached great importance is to holding an interprovincial forum this autumn in Uzbekistan.
