Ambassador of Uzbekistan Javlon Vakhabov during his visit to Brazil held talks with MPs of the Chamber of Deputies of the National Congress. During the meetings, the MPs were briefed with the results of reforms in Uzbekistan aimed at liberalizing the economy and ensuring its sustainable growth, strengthening the rule of law, improving the governance, primarily in the parliament, Dunyo reported.

According to the head of the Secretariat of International Relations Soraya Santos, Brazil is ready to support Uzbekistan in every possible way in strengthening its role and importance in the world, and is interested in expanding multifaceted cooperation, primarily inter-parliamentary relations.

The President of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Pedro Vilela, called on Uzbekistan to open an embassy in Brazil and further expand diplomatic relations. According to him, the parliament is in constant close contact with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and joint decisions are made on international cooperation. He declared his readiness to mobilize all his effeorts for the development of bilateral mutually beneficial relations between the countries.

While, Rubens Bueno emphasized the possibility of expanding trade and economic cooperation between Brazil and the countries of Central Asia, especially Uzbekistan. According to him, the parties should conduct targeted negotiations in such areas as soybean cultivation, meat exports, cotton processing, manufacturing, tourism and air travel.

Welcoming the attention paid to women in Uzbekistan, Deputy Head of the Secretariat for Women's Affairs Luisa Kanziani noted that "the achievements of New Uzbekistan in matters of gender equality are also an example even for the developed countries."

In her opinion, the increase in the number of women in the Uzbek parliament, the creation of all favorable conditions for them in government structures, as well as the opportunities that open up in the field of entrepreneurship, serve as an important basis for the sustainable development of the country's economy.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan, following the meetings with the deputies, an agreement was reached on organizing an introductory online meeting between the parliamentarians of the two countries and discussing the prospects for developing mutually beneficial ties.
