On August 3, the Tashkent city mayor Jahongir Ortiqkhojaev hosted a delegation of Russia's Chelyabinsk and Astrakhan provinces. The delegation was headed by Chelyabinsk province governor Alexey Teksler.

A. Teksler emphasized the importance of establishing interprovincial direct flights, standardization of tourist offers and routes, improvement of logistics. He mentioned that it will serve to develop and improve tourism, including medical tourism in dental and ophthalmological fields and made proposals to continue the development of industrial cooperation, to conclude a cooperation agreement and to establish a cultural exchange.

The Minister of Industry and Natural Resources of Astrakhan province, Ilya Volinsky, said that the province opening the way to the Caspian Sea could provide modern logistics services. He offered to open a trading house in Astrakhan - this will give companies an opportunity to cover the entire Russian market, establish cooperation in the field of cultivation and delivery of agricultural products, in particular, onions and potatoes. Emphasizing the success of Astrakhan University, where more than 1,000 Uzbek students are studying, I. Volinsky suggested further development of cooperation in the field of vocational education.

J. Ortiqkkhojaev supported the initiative and expressed interest in their suggestions and opinions. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue negotiations aimed at developing mutually beneficial and promising cooperation.
