Officials of the Swimming Federation and others are being suspected of abuse of power and embezzlement of budget funds on an especially large scale, the Prosecutor General's Office reported.
The athlete, who was not included in the national team and its reserve, was nonetheless sent to international training camps held in Volgograd (Russia). Thus, 72 million soums were unreasonably spent, the supervisory authority noted.
Reportedly, in October-December 2021, a certain company “D.” entered into its invoices false information about the provision of 287 athletes with hotel services. Thus, 1 billion soums were stolen.
A criminal case has been opened on this fact, with investigation underway.
