Due to shortage of certain brands of household appliances, Russian retailers began to expand their assortment at the expense of manufacturers from Uzbekistan, Turkey and China.
According to Inc, by the end of 2022 it is planned to increase the range up to 100 items in 16 product categories.
The Uzbek brand of household appliances can take from 3% to 5% of the Russian market within two years "with the right strategy," said Alexei Pogudalov, commercial director of Holodilnik.ru.
Dmitry Levin, director of large household appliances at Marvel Distribution, said that there were more chances for manufacturers from China to get a part of the Russian market. Among them, he named Viomi, ChiQ and TCL. According to him, by the end of the year, the appliances of these brands will be sold in Russian stores. Citilink brought Chinese brand Ascoli and Turkish Grundig to the market.
After the start of the war in Ukraine, many foreign manufacturers of household appliances and electronics, including Samsung, Bosch and LG, stopped deliveries to Russia. In March, large household appliances rose in price by an average of 50%, and the demand for it increased by 2.3 times.
In early July, Samsung began to develop an indirect supply chain, namely, the export of products manufactured in Russia to the EAEU countries in order to organize parallel imports.
