Spanish clothing giant Inditex, which manages nearly $20 billion in assets, includes some of the world's most famous textile brands, including Zara, Bershka, Massimo Dutti, Pull & Bear and more.

A few days ago, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade with executives of the Social Stability Board of the Spanish Inditex.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the reforms carried out in recent years in Uzbekistan in the field of the textile industry, including the introduction of a new "cluster" approach to the cultivation and processing of cotton, ending child and forced labor in the picking and cultivation of cotton, systemic state support for enterprises in the industry, producing eco-friendly clothes, Uzbekistan obtaining the status of a beneficiary country of the EU Generalized System of Preferences GSP +, as well as lifting the global boycott of Uzbek cotton by the international coalition Cotton Campaign.

In addition, effective measures to support business in the country, opportunities for entrepreneurial growth and prospects for increasing the company's investment portfolio in Uzbekistan were comprehensively considered.

During the meeting, executives of Inditex were briefed about the opportunities to increase the involvement of Uzbek textile producers in global production and supply chains, the potential of textile companies and cotton textile clusters operating in Uzbekistan, measures taken to improve working conditions for industry workers, and reduce the impact of production processes on the environment. and consumers.

The meeting participants substantively discussed the prospects for establishing the company's activities in Uzbekistan, bearing in mind, among other things, the implementation of joint projects. Further steps are planned to study the industrial potential of the textile industry, assess the market capacity and work out other aspects of practical cooperation.
