The State Assets Management Agency (SAMA) has agreed to sell a 63.4% government stake in capital of the Uzgazloikha design organization, SAMA reported.
As part of a public tender, Prime Tower Group, which offered 21.5 billion soums, or $1.95 million was awarded the deal.
Grant Thornton acted as a privatization consultant and Dentons, as a legal consultant.
The asset was put up for auction on December 29, 2021. The consultant sent investment teasers to 28 local and foreign companies in the field of design, construction and transportation of gas and oil products.
According to the Unified State Register of Enterprises and Organizations, Prime Tower Group LLC was registered in March 2016. The company founders are Nodirbek Ibragimov (60%) and Makhsud Khudayarov (40%).
Prime Tower Group participated in several major projects in Tashkent: was the general designer of a number of lots in Tashkent City, the Tashkent Digital Situation Center, presidential schools, the New Uzbekistan Presidential University, 72 houses in the Choshtepa mahalla and others. In almost all of these projects, the company was selected as the designer without a tender.
The second largest share in Uzgazloikha belongs to the Tashkent city mayor, Jakhongir Artykhodzhaev (34.5%).
