The President signed the Additional measures to ensure price stability in consumer markets and increase the effectiveness of antimonopoly measures Decree.

According to the Nigoh channel close to the Presidential Administration, from May 1, 2022 to January 1, 2023:

  • zero customs duty rates will be established for a number of items;
  • Items produced in countries, where the most favored nation treatment in trade and economic relations is not established, shall not be subject to a double rate of customs duty.

From June 1, 2022, the following are temporarily prohibited for export (export) from the customs territory of Uzbekistan:

  • vegetable oil, including cottonseed, sunflower, except for cases of down payment under existing contracts until June 1, 2022, as well as processed in accordance with the customs regime of Uzbekistan "processing in the customs territory";
  • sunflower seeds (HS code 1206 00) and seeds and fruits of other oilseeds (HS code 1207), unless otherwise provided by law.

The Cabinet of Ministers has the right to resume the export of items specified in this clause, subject to the availability of a sufficient volume of these goods in the domestic market.
