On May 26-28, an U.S. delegation led by US Special Representative for Afghanistan Thomas West will visit Uzbekistan, the Foreign Ministry said.

Reportedly, the US delegation will hold talks with officials, including the interim Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov and Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev.

During the meetings, the parties are expected to exchange views on the current situation in Afghanistan, as well as the ways to provide humanitarian assistance to this country.

As reported earlier, an U.S. government delegation led by Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu will visit Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan from May 23 to 27.
