As of April 1, 2022, Tashkent city's population stands at 2.879 million, the Tashkent mayor’s office said. Reportedly, year-to-date, the population increased by 17.4 thousand people, or 0.6%. Among Tashkent residents, there were 1,411,800 men and 1,468,000 women.
Broken down by districts, as of April 1, 2022, the largest population was recorded in Almazar district, where 387.7 thousand live, or 13.5% of the capital’s population.
The population of Yunusabad district is at 360.9 thousand, or 12.5%.
The smallest population is in Yakkasaray district - 124.6 thousand (4.3%) and in Bektemir district - 51.8 thousand (1.8%).
