Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a congratulatory message to the President-elect of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron on his victory in the presidential elections, the presidential press service said.
“I am sure that thanks to our joint efforts, the long-term cooperation between our states, based on mutual respect and trust, will continue to advance for the benefit of our peoples,” the message said.
Earlier after processing 100% of the ballots, incumbent President Emmanuel Macron won 58.5% of the vote, the chief of the National Front Marine Le Pen won 41.5%. The constitutional council of France will announce the final results in the midweek.
According to the French Interior Ministry, the turnout was at 71.99%. While, 8.6% of the processed ballots were damaged or empty.
