The State Duma of Russia has ratified an agreement with the government of Uzbekistan on a simplified procedure for staying in Russia, the Russian lower house of parliament said.

The document proposes to cancel the mandatory registration in Russia within 15 days from the date of entry for Uzbeks and for Russians entering Uzbekistan. After ratification, the law shall be sent for consideration to the Federation Council (the upper house), and then to the president.

The agreement between the governments of the countries was signed on May 21, 2021 in Moscow and on June 17, 2021 in Tashkent.

Similar approach applies to citizens of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, and also applies to Russians who arrived in these states.
