Currently, the employees of the province’s Emergencies Department are taking measures to eliminate the consequences of precipitation in the Nurafshon mahalla, Gulobod village in Bakhmal district, Moltob village in Gallyaaral district, Kuyovboshi mahalla in Sharaf-Rashidov district and Egizbulok mahalla in Farish district.
According to Xabar.uz, mudflows in the village of Egizbulok in the Farish district damaged a school and a kindergarten. One footage shows a Zhiguli car being carried away by the flow of water.
Lead specialist of Uzhydromet Erkin Abdulahatov in his Telegram channel said that the Gallyaaral weather station in the Jizzakh province recorded 31.5 mm of precipitation in 2 hours and 5 minutes, which is almost 10% of the total annual precipitation in the province.
“This is a very large volume that can raise [the problem] to the level of an emergency,” he added.
