Imports of beef increased by about 2,000 tons. the State Statistics Committee said in a report. Reportedly, in the first two months of 2022, Uzbekistan imported 5.9 thousand tons of beef from seven countries worth total of $26.5 million, an increase by about 2,000 tons compared to the same period last year.
In January-February 2022, Uzbekistan imported most beef from the following countries, accounting for 93% of total beef imports:
- Belarus - 4 thousand tons;
- Kazakhstan - 1.2 thousand tons;
- Ukraine - 320 tons.
Earlier it was reported that in 2021 Uzbekistan will import the most meat from Belarus.
