Judge of the Tashkent City Arbitration Court was caught red-handedly when taking a bribe. He demanded $4,000 in return for a ruling in favor of the defendant, the Prosecutor General's Office said.

Reportedly, the operation was conducted by the Prosecutor General's Office, together with the State Security Service.

The judge promised a favorable ruling via his high-ranking acquaintances and demanded $ 4,000 in return for. He was detained with evidence when receiving 2,500 US dollars upfront.

Criminal case has been opened under Fraud and Bribery charges of the Criminal Code, with investigation underway.
