The delegation headed by the Minister of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, Lieutenant-General Baktibek Bekbolotov, arrived on an official visit to Uzbekistan to discuss the state of bilateral relations in the field of regional security and defense, the bilateral military ties and the ways to expand them.

According to the defense ministry, the official meeting ceremony of the Kyrgyz delegation with the participation of the guard of honor and a military band took place in the central office of the Ministry of Defense.

Afterwards, the two ministers headed for the talks.

The sides said that the leaders of the countries have mutual trust and friendship, and our peoples are historically close neighbors, share common history, religion, culture and traditions, and our peoples have always lived side by side.

As the Uzbek Minister of Defense, Lieutenant-General Bakhodir Kurbanov, stressed that the Central Asian states were the main priority of the country's foreign policies. Relying on the historical, national and cultural unity of peoples, strong ties of friendship and good neighborliness, Uzbekistan will continue to adhere to an open and constructive policy in relations with its closest neighbors.

“One of the main areas of Uzbekistan's national policies is the completion of the delimitation and demarcation of state borders in the region, strengthening security and mutual trust. In this regard, the parties discussed the ways to further strengthen and expand cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense, which is a follow-up of the issues of cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Therefore, during the meeting, the parties discussed issues of strengthening and further expanding cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in the field of defense, as well as issues of training military personnel,” the ministry said.

During the visit, the Kyrgyz delegation will get familiar with the higher military educational institutions, including the Academy of the Armed Forces, the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies and Military Communications of the Ministry of Defense, the Chirchik Higher Tank Command Engineering School, the Higher Military Aviation School and other military facilities of the country, as well as visiting the historical and sights of the city of Samarkand.
