Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan on March 29-31, it was announced at a special event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Uzbek-Turkish ties.
Earlier, Turkish Ambassador to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar said that President Erdoğan would visit Uzbekistan in the coming days and that there were plans to increase the two-way trade to $ 10 billion.
“The trade, which reached a record $ 2.3 billion in 2019, reached $ 3.6 billion in 2021.
At the last meeting, the two leaders set a goal was to increase the trade to $ 5 billion. It was later revealed that it has the potential to reach $ 10 billion, and we are trying to reach that figure in the near future,” said Olgan Bekar.
On March 1, Tashkent Mayor Jahongir Ortikhodjaev also met with the Turkish Ambassador. During the meeting, the parties discussed the allocation of land for expansion of the Turkish school and the naming of one of the streets in Tashkent after the first President of Turkey Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, as well as the involvement of Turkish construction companies in Tashkent construction projects.
