On March 17, photos of lightly dressed schoolchildren participating in festive performances along with warmly dressed adults dedicated to Navruz were published on social networks.
“I believe that this is violence against children,” Shakhnoza Soatova, adviser to the Minister of Justice, said, pointing out that the photo shows a school in Shavat district of Khorezm province.
The Ministry of Public Education, in its commentary, said that it was working to identify the school where the event took place, and appealed to school principals and teachers with a strict demand not to allow such cases.
The practice of holding events without taking into account weather conditions and leaving children in inappropriate clothing continues, “despite repeated warnings and measures applied to responsible persons,” the ministry said.
