On March 10, the Anti-Corruption Agency reported at a press conference on achived results in 2021. The report was presented by the Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency Akmal Burkhanov.

3,769 corruption criminal cases against 5,483 people across Uzbekistan were sent to the courts for consideration in 2021, an increase by 2,621 compared to 2020, with the number of prosecuted persons increasing by 3,760, or 218%.

In 2020, as a result of corruption-related crimes, the state suffered 500.1 billion soums worth of damage, of which 355 billion soums, or 71%, were inflicted on public interests. And in 2021, the damage topped almost 1.3 trillion soums, of which 887 billion soums or 69.1% were compensated.

During the year, the agency organized more than 50 studies in provinces and sectors within the framework of the Sphere without Corruption and Province without Corruption projects, as well as within the framework of the Comfortable Village and Comfortable Mahalla programs.

In total, 49 criminal cases and 24 administrative cases were initiated by sending the collected documents to law enforcement agencies on revealed facts of corruption.

Remote monitoring of public procurement in 2021 revealed violations of the Public Procurement" and Competition Laws in 452 tenders worth 145.3 billion soums, 372 submissions were submitted to eliminate the causes and conditions for committing corruption offenses, and misuse of budget funds was prevented by canceling the auction.

The Agency studied and analyzed the observance by local authorities of their obligations to post socially significant information on the official website and other information resources.

The studies showed that the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, the governor offices of Andijan, Bukhara, Jizzakh and Navoi provinces provided partial disclosure of information on the overfulfillment of local budget revenues and the targeted use of these funds. Khokimiyats of Tashkent, Khorezm, Samarkand, Syrdarya and Ferghana provinces and Tashkent did not perform these obligations at all.

Provinceal governor offices that did not ensure the disclosure of socially significant information (there are 13 in total) were issued official warnings to eliminate violations.

Since January 1, 2021, the national information system "Transparent Construction" has been developed and launched in real time in all provinces of the country. In addition, in order to prevent corruption and transparency of public procurement in the construction industry, an electronic portal www.tender.mc.uz has been created to conduct tenders in the construction industry.

With the help of this platform, tenders worth 15.45 trillion soums were held in 2021, contracts for 14.26 trillion soums were signed with construction contractors, 1.19 billion soums were saved, or 8% of the budget compared to the initial cost of projects.
