The total score of Uzbeks evacuated from Ukraine through Poland reached 4,359 as of the morning of March 7, Yusup Kabulzhanov, spokesman to the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, said.
From February 28 to March 7, a total of 19 special flights of Uzbekistan Airways were performed. Another evacuation flight is scheduled for Monday.
Currently there are about 350 Uzbeks in Poland. Of these, about 80 people are accommodated in the accumulation zone of the state border of Poland, and about 270 people are awaiting for departure at the Katowice airport, from where flights to Tashkent are operated.
“The Uzbek Embassy in Ukraine is in constant contact with compatriots. Diplomats are in various regions of Ukraine, including in the war zone, and are working to evacuate our citizens,” Yusup Kabulzhanov concluded.
