Russian Smartavia and iFly airlines temporarily suspended flights to Uzbekistan, the Civil Aviation Agency said in a statement.
Reportedly, the said two airlines have for once-a-week flight permits to civil aviation airports in Uzbekistan. However, Smartavia has officially announced the cancellation of the Moscow-Urgench-Moscow flight scheduled for March 7.
In addition, iFly has suspended for an indefinite period the flights to Uzbekistan from March 5 on all scheduled routes. The airline has provided official information to the Aviation Authority of Uzbekistan.
"Passengers of canceled flights are advised to apply to the ticket offices where they purchased these tickets for a refund or reservation of tickets for another period," the statement said.
It will be recalled that after Russia's invasion of Ukraine on February 24, it is facing severe sanctions. On February 27, European countries announced the closure of their airspace for Russian aircraft.
