On February 27, the Deputy PM/ Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umrzakov held a conference call with the Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia Khalid al-Falih.
The parties explored the ways for attracting more investments from Saudi Arabia in the field of energy infrastructure development. Sardor Umrzakov highlighted that the Saudi company Acwa Power, which is implementing $ 3 billion worth of projects in Uzbekistan has a special place in this regard.
The Minister Khalid al-Falih Saudi expressed readiness to cooperate closely in attracting investment for the implementation of additional projects in Uzbekistan in the fields of agriculture, chemistry and petrochemistry, as well as metallurgy.
The parties agreed to hold a meeting of a government commission, joint meeting of businesses, and to organize an exhibition of Uzbek local products "Made in Uzbekistan" in Riyadh and Jeddah this year.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed the ways to promote tourist flows through the establishment of regular direct passenger flights between the two countries.
