Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Chairman of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with Afghanistan Petras Austrevičius.
According to Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed the current state and the ways to advance relations between Uzbekistan and the European Parliament for Afghanistan.
The parties reportedly highly valued the productive results of the consultative meeting of special envoys and representatives of the EU and Central Asian countries on Afghanistan.
Petras Austrevičius underscored Uzbekistan’s significant role in establishing a long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan and was also briefed about Uzbekistan's efforts to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people and economic assistance to Afghanistan.
