On February 19, Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov and the U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken exchanged congratulatory messages on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, announced the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yusup Kabulzhanov.

Abdulaziz Kamilov noted that in recent years, bilateral ties between Uzbekistan and the United States have been upgraded to a new level. Countries successfully cooperate on a wide range of issues in the fields of politics, economics, human rights and culture based on the principle of mutual respect. In this context, the counterparts mentioned decision to transform the annual consultation mechanism into the Strategic Partnership Dialogue and the successful holding of its first meeting in Tashkent in 2021.

The Uzbek Foreign Minister underscored the fruitful cooperation with the United States within the framework of international and regional formats, including the C5+1 mechanism and also stressed the importance of joining efforts to assist the people of Afghanistan.

Anthony Blinken highly valued the political and economic transformations being implemented in Uzbekistan and emphasized "the readiness of the United States to continue to support Uzbekistan's efforts to achieve its ambitious goals."

He highlighted Uzbekistan’s significant contribution to strengthening the C5+1 platform, including in the areas of climate change mitigation, strengthening regional security and promoting the prosperity of the region.

The Secretary of State stressed the commitment of the United States to fully support the course of Uzbekistan's reforms and continue constructive cooperation.
