On February 15, Uzbekhydroenergo and K-water Corporation, the largest water corporation in the Republic of Korea, held bilateral talks on the joint implementation of the new Khojakent Hydrostorage power plant (HSPP) project to be built in Uzbekistan.
The facility will be built at Khojakent facility in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent province. The capacity of HSPP is 200 MW, with an average annual production capacity of 400.0 million kWh.
During the bilateral meeting, the Chairman of Uzbekhydroenergo A. Sanginov met with the K-water Vice President Lee Jong Jin, CEO Cheon Geun Ho, Senior Manager Kim Jeong Myeong, and Global Business Network Deputy General Manager Kim Jeong Myeong.
Following the talks, in order to discuss cooperation agreements a bilateral decision was made on the need to develop a preliminary feasibility study for the Khojakent HSPP project.
Also, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Uzbekhydroenergo and K-water Corporation on the Khojakent HPP project.
