President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on February 10 at a meeting at the Samarkand airport announced the sacking of a number of officials of Samarkand region, announced the presidential spokesman Sherzod Asadov.
The President harshly criticized the growing medical and social problems in the province, the shortcomings of the banking and financial system, and the increase in the number of crimes.
According to Sherzod Asadov, for serious mistakes and shortcomings in work, the following were dismissed:
- mayor of Samarkand district, N. Mavlonov;
- mayor of Nurabad district, F. Zairov;
- head of Provincial Branch of Central Bank O. Tukhtaev,
- prosecutor of Akdarya district D. Kubaev;
- chiefs of police department of Samarkand city, Samarkand and Akdarya districts Zh. Kadyrov, F. Gafarov and D. Ibragimov;
- heads of state tax authorities of Urgut and Payaryk districts A. Almazov and M. Ergashev;
- head of the district enterprise of electrical networks G. Mamatkulov.
The presidential spokesman added that the issue of initiating criminal cases against some of them based on the collected materials, including corruption cases, would be considered.
“We have set very high goals for ourselves and people are expecting practical results from us. I fired 10 officials today. From now on, the demand for non-working leaders will be very tough. Everyone should learn a lesson,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
