Law enforcement authorities detained judge of Yukorichirchik inter-district criminal court of Tashkent province T. O. upon receiving 3,000 US dollars, the spokesman to the Prosecutor General's Office Khayot Shamsutdinov said.
Reportedly, the judge is suspected of accepting a bribe for a positive outcome of the case on a land dispute of "his criminal accomplice."
The Supreme Judicial Council at a meeting on February 7 agreed to bring the judge to criminal responsibility, with the judge now facing Taking bribe by prior agreement by a group of officials, which is punishable by imprisonment from 5 to 10 years. A probe is underway.
