The caretaker government of Afghanistan must keep its promises for recognition, Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov said. “It is clear that a completely new reality has emerged in Afghanistan today. There are, of course, different approaches regarding the recognition of the Afghan caretaker government. We believe that the issue of government recognition is a two-way street. That is, it is necessary to move forward: the caretaker government must keep those many promises. These are practically the same conditions and demands that the international community is putting,” he said.

On the other hand, the minister added, the international community should encourage any positive steps and changes being made in Afghanistan. “It is necessary to work with this government, conduct a dialogue, influence, inform about approaches and conditions from the international community. In this way, to bring positions closer, to promote changes for the better,” Kamilov believes.

According to him, the caretaker government of Afghanistan "is doing a lot to clear the country from terrorists." They also want to reconnect into the regional and international economic community.

“We must encourage and support these efforts, at the same time insist on our own terms, demand the prevention of violence, fight agains terrorism, the provision of good neighborliness, the creation of decent living conditions for the people of Afghanistan,” the Foreign Minister added.
