Man in Khorezm was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment for insulting the president while being drunk. According to human rights activist Abdurahmon Tashanov, the man, 31, was a member of the Bloggers' Union, a group on Telegram, which posted live video footage insulting and defaming former and current presidents of Uzbekistan.
Forensic linguistic examination found that these footages constitute a public insult of the President of Uzbekistan under aggravating circumstances, ie drunkenness.
Confirming this information, the press service of the Khorezm province court said that the man was given 20 days to appeal.
