In January-November 2021, Russia exported $1.36 billion worth of 675 tons of vaccines, Ksenia Bannikova, the chief of the non-resource sector economy of the Center for Strategic Research, told RIA Novosti, citing data from the Federal Customs Service.
For comparison, 175.1 tons of vaccines worth $70.9 million were exported in 2020.
“According to the Federal Customs Service of Russia, in January-November 2021, exports of other vaccines for humans (HS Code 3002 2000 09) topped 675 tons with a total value of 1.36 billion US dollars.
She pointed out that the main deliveries of vaccines last year were made to the countries of Asia, South America and Africa.
“The top 5 countries where Russian vaccines were exported in January-November 2021 are the UAE (15.4% in physical terms), Argentina (12.6%), Mexico (10.8%), Kazakhstan (10.4%). %), Uzbekistan (7%). Also, large volumes of supplies were sent to the DR Congo (4.8%), the Philippines (4.7%), Nigeria (4.6%), India (3.2%) and Nicaragua (3%),” the expert noted.
According to her, in general, it can be expected that the demand for Russian vaccines abroad will continue to grow due to the ongoing mass vaccination in all countries against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic.
