Schools, colleges, lyceums and universities (including non-state educational institutions) of Uzbekistan will resume full-time in-person education from February 7. This is stated in the decision of the Anti-Coronavirus Commission, the Ministry of Health reported.

The decision was prompted by the decrease in the incidence of coronavirus in recent days.

“Reportedly, the prevalence of the disease is at 0.8 in Uzbekistan (according to WHO experts, if this figure is below 1.0, then situation is deemed stable),” the report says.

In 35-43% of cases, the source of infection is a sick family member or relative, in 6-7% - the neighbors, in 10-12% - communication in public places and in 4-5% - communication at work. According to the analysis, the incidence among children of kindergarten age (3-6 years) is lower than among children of the same age who are in home care (by 3-3.5 times), the statement underscored.

All schools require masks to be worn, social distancing, personal hygiene and regular use of antiseptics.

Studying in secondary and higher educational institutions was supposed to begin after a two-week winter vacation from January 11, but the holidays were extended by two weeks - until January 24. Later, it was decided to switch to (except kindergartens) online learning from January 24.
