The head of state signed a decree appointing Muzaffar Kamilov as presidential adviser on relations with public and religious organizations, his spokesman Sherzod Asadov said.
Prior to that, worked as the first deputy chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs under the Cabinet of Ministers and the rector of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan. He will concurrently hold rector position as well.
In this position Muzaffar Kamilov replaced Shaazim Minovarov, who had served since May 2021, who will continue to be in charge of the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan.
