The governors of Syrdarya province Gafur Mirzayev and Khorezm province Farkhod Ermanov were reprimanded by Shavkat Mirziyoyev on Jan 20 meeting dedicated to the privatization of state-owned assets.
According to the presidential spokesman Sherzod Asadov, the president underscored the unsatisfactory progress of the privatization of state-owned assets.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev criticized the very low level of revenue from the privatization of state assets in 2022, as well as the fact that 2,000 state-owned facilities were still inefficiently used in the provinces.
In addition, about 170 empty facilities that are on the balance of province governor’s offices have not been sold for years.
Also, the heads of the territorial branches of the State Assets Management Agency in Syrdarya, Khorezm and Bukhara provinces, as well as the general director of the Uzagroservice Rustam Khayitov, were fired for their negligent attitude to the transformation and privatization.
