The Uzbek authorities are introducing new restrictions for those entering the country to prevent the spread of the omicron strain, the Foreign Ministry said.
From January 15 of this year, citizens entering Uzbekistan (with the exception of road traffic) must provide a negative PCR test result taken no earlier than 48 hours before entry, and also pass an express antigen test when entering the territory of Uzbekistan.
At the same time, citizens entering from the territory of Kyrgyzstan through border automobile checkpoints need to provide only a negative PCR test result taken no earlier than 48 hours before entry, and citizens entering from the territories of other border states must pass an express antigen test.
At the same time, citizens of Uzbekistan, as well as citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan entering and leaving, as well as transiting from the territories of Sokh, Shokhimardon, Chungara, Toshtepa, Bunyodkor, Zhomi and Kardoshlik settlements of Uzbekistan, are not required to pass any types of coronavirus test.
