At a meeting of the Security Council on Thursday, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev "voiced his opinion on the statements of some heads of states regarding Uzbekistan," the presidential spokesman Sherzod Asadov said.

“The other day, unfounded statements were made by a leader of one states that Uzbekistan should learn lessons from the events that took place in Kazakhstan,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

“We are closely monitoring the situation in the region, all the security challenges and threats. We have all the necessary potential and power to adequately respond to any threat,” the head of state stressed.

The statement does not indicate the names of the leaders of these states, but it is most likely about the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, who at the CSTO summit on January 10 said that lessons from the crisis that occurred in Kazakhstan should be drawn, “first of all, by Uzbekistan”, as some major riot-makers cast glances to the country.
