Currently, only a certain category of citizens is required to get vaccinated against COVID-19 in Uzbekistan. The Deputy PM/Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov chaired a meeting dedicated to measures aimed at ensuring sanitary and epidemiological well-being, in particular, vaccination.
“Unfortunately, among the public there are cases of frauds to get vaccination certificates. They do not seem to understand that they are putting their lives and health at risk. I am concerned that even the vaccination process is corrupted. We will give people some time. If there is no expected result, then vaccination will become mandatory,” Aziz Abdukhakimov said during his speech.
He stressed that the spread of the Omicron strain was the result of the carelessness of the public.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister said that prize games will be organized among vaccinated persons. This initiative is currently being put into practice.
