The construction of a public toilet is underway in the Tashkent metro in a test mode, the Tashkent Metro in said in a story on Sunday.

The story highlighted that there are still no toilets in the metro, which carries thousands of passengers a day. Taking into account the increase in the number of stations, a person can be on public transport for an hour. If the passenger has a small child, then not only a toilet may be needed, but also a mother and child room. The article gave an example of the Tokyo subway with toilets, including those equipped for people with disabilities, and rooms for parents with small children.

The Tashkent metro added that there are about 300 stations in the Tokyo metro, and the total length of the lines is over 300 km.

“Passengers in the Tokyo subway get to their destinations on average in two to three hours. Therefore, the Tokyo subway has rooms for mothers and children, toilets. There are also no toilets and rooms for mothers and children in the Tashkent metro. passengers reach the farthest destination in an average of 40-50 minutes”.

Now, according to the company, construction and repair work is underway at the Chilanzar station as part of an experiment.

“If the experiment pays off, toilets are planned to be introduced at other stations. A number of amenities for passengers are also being designed at the metro stations under construction,” the company added.

Currently, the metro has only service toilets for employees.
