On December 30, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Measures to ensure the implementation of the Uzbekistan 2022 State Budget Law Decree.

The document approved a list of five categories of goods, for imports of which, zero customs duty rates shall be applied until December 31, 2022.

  • Meat and edible offal of poultry of heading 0105, fresh, chilled or frozen;
  • Wheat or wheat-rye flour (10%);
  • Cereals processed by other means (for example, hulled, crushed, flaked, hulled, chaffed or crushed), other than rice of heading 1006; cereal germ, whole, rolled, flaked or ground;
  • Sunflower, safflower or cottonseed oil and their fractions, unrefined or refined, but without changing the chemical composition;
  • Soap; surfactants, detergents (including auxiliary detergents) and detergents, whether or not containing soap (other than those of heading 3401).

Also, from May 1 to 2021, there iss a zero VAT rate for imports of vegetable oil, sunflower seeds and flax and soybeans, as well as on the turnover for the production and (or) sale of vegetable oil (except for cottonseed oil).

From October 10 to December 31, meat (beef, lamb, chicken), live animals (livestock and poultry) and their slaughter products, potatoes and frozen fish, was also exempted from VAT, as well as their import into Uzbekistan.
