The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan on Wednesday evening issued a statement in connection with the events in neighboring Kazakhstan.
“Uzbekistan is concerned about the latest events in brotherly Kazakhstan and continues to closely monitor the development of the situation in the country,” the statement said.
“We are convinced that the wise people of Kazakhstan will be able to prevent the escalation of instability, avoid violence and human casualties,” the Foreign Ministry said.
“We are confident that Kazakhs have the necessary determination and will to maintain unity, restore peace and tranquility in the country and independently overcome the problems that have arisen,” the statement said.
“Uzbekistan once again reiterates its unwavering support of the people and the leadership of Kazakhstan in their striving to ensure stability, well-being of the nation and prosperity of the country,” the Foreign Ministry said.
