In accordance with the Dec. 28 resolution of the Senate council, Farhod Arziev was appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to China, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today.

Prior to this, Farkhod Arziev had served as First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in 2020-2021.

He has been in the diplomatic service since 2002 and has extensive experience in the central office of the ministry and foreign missions of Uzbekistan.

In 2014-2017, he served as an adviser to the Uzbek Embassy in Germany, and in 2017-2020, as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India and Bangladesh.

The previous ambassador of Uzbekistan to China, Bakhtiyor Saidov, was appointed minister of public education in November.

The new First Deputy Foreign Minister has not yet been announced.
