On December 28, 2021, the UzAuto Motors production line in the city of Hajigabul (Azerbaijan) moved to the second stage of production development - the assembly of Chevrolet Damas, Labo, Lacetti, Tracker and Malibu cars was launched at the plant.
Production was established at the production facilities of the Azermash SR JV LLC plant, where Chevrolet Nexia and Cobalt cars have been produced since September this year. All vehicles are manufactured in accordance with global standards set by General Motors (USA).
The next steps in this direction will be adding the Chevrolet model portfolio in Azerbaijan with new promising models, as well as a phased increase in production in the coming years: by the end of 2022, it is planned to reach a capacity of at least 5,000 cars per year.
Azermash SR, which is part of the Hajigabul industrial district located near the city of Baku, is a joint venture founded by AVTOSANOAT INVEST LLC (Uzbekistan) and STA INSAAT LLC (Azerbaijan).
