President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has awarded the chess player Nodirbek Abdusattorov with the state award Mard Oglon (transl. Brave Son), the presidential spokesman Sherzod Asadov announced.
Also, as per the president’s order, Nodirbek Abdusattorov was offered a one-bedroom apartment in Tashkent city as a gift and 250 million soums (US$ 23.5 thousand), while Javokhir Sindarov, who was ranked 8th in the Blitz Chess Championship, was offered 100 million soums, (US$ 9 thousand).
Nodirbek Abdusattorov won the World Rapid Chess Championship 2021 in Warsaw at the age of 17 on December 28, becoming the youngest World Rapid Chess Champion in the history.
