Today, Shavkat Mirziyoyev spoke to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev over the telephone, the presidential press service said in a statement.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated Ilham Aliyev on his 60th birthday, wishing him health, prosperity and great success, as well as peace and prosperity to the Azerbaijani people.
The two leaders discussed the current agenda of the Uzbek-Azerbaijani of strategic partnership and cooperation.
“The counterparts commended the upward trend in the trade and economic ties: the two-way trade figures are steadily growing and the cooperation of leading enterprises is expanding. An industrial exhibition in the city of Baku and a regular meeting of the joint business council were successfully held this month. An intensive exchange is ongoing within the framework of the bilateral cultural and humanitarian program, the statement added.
The heads of state emphasized the importance of the swift promotion of projects of practical cooperation in priority sectors and areas, including in the fields of mechanical engineering, energy, agriculture, transport and logistics.
They also exchanged views on regional policy and cooperation within the framework of international organizations and considered the schedule of upcoming events.
