Uzbek specialists are scheduled to complete the Mazar-e-Sharif airport restoration project in early 2022, the special representative of the Uzbek President for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev told reporters.
“Our specialists work there in large groups. A large scope of work has already been completed. I think that this work will continue for a maximum of another one month,” he said at a briefing.
He added that at present, Uzbek specialists are working in several areas - repair of air navigation and meteorological equipment, reconstruction of the runway, as well as restoration of energy supply to the airport.
