Uzbekistan Post yesterday announced a rebrand and a number of changes and improvements in the work of the mail service. At a presentation in Tashkent, the new brand name - UzPost and the slogan - "The Power of New Opportunities" were showcased.
The Director General of Uzbekiston Post Alisher Fayzullayev, speaking at the presentation, said: “Against the background of the Internet services and a drop in demand for traditional mail services around the world, the income of all postal operators has been decreasing. While in some countries the post office solves financial problems through government subsidies, in other countries postal operators are starting a transformation process to find alternative sources of income. "
The head of the marketing department, Muhammad Chorikulov, said that the company had introduced a new logistics system, thanks to which the stages of processing postal items have been reduced. The new logistics system will be fully operational by the end of 2021.
“The old system did not allow the implementation of the standards of the Universal Postal Union, as well as the integration of other systems,” he said. - Many tasks were performed manually: filling out receipts, orders and even invoices. This raised doubts about the reliability of the data due to human error and made work more difficult. "
Now clients of Uzbekistan Post will be able to register postal items in the comfort of their homes - through a website, an application or a Telegram bot. After online registration, the client should contact the nearest post office and show the ID-code. The postal operator sees the data entered by the client and accepts the shipment. The company representatives noted that such a system would reduce unnecessary bureaucracy.
The processing of large-volume items will also be facilitated. For example, customers who need to send a large number of parcels can enter the required data in one file and upload it to the system.
The logistics system will allow Uzbekistan Post customers to track the movement of parcels online.
So that customers can pick up their mail themselves, 30 parcel terminals have already been installed across the country.
Uzbekistan Post also launched its own marketplace called Unisavdo. To date, more than 300 entrepreneurs have signed contracts for the placement of their products. The platform now hosts over 14 thousand goods that are delivered throughout the country.
In addition, Uzbekistan Post presented its own payment and money transfer system Avval - a unified centralized system of payment for all types of services rendered by mail, which is more than 100 services. Thanks to the new system, postal operators will be able to accept payments using mobile devices right in the field.
The company also renewed its vehicle fleet: 27 Damas microvans, 75 Caddy cars, 4 Isuzu vans and 2 GAZel trucks were purchased. In addition, 417 electric scooters and 200 bicycles were also bought.
A complete upgrade of the post office infrastructure is now being planned. By this time, 15% of them have been repaired. Pilot offices were opened in a new format and with a new design.
At the beginning of 2022, Uzbekistan Post will commission 4 fulfillment centers in the cities of Tashkent, Bukhara, Urgench and Asaka. They will serve as a warehouse. By 2025, the number of automated fulfillment centers will be increased to 30.
The number of services, which are provided in more than 900 post offices in Uzbekistan, has been brought to 34.
