On December 14, the Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov hosted the Russian diplomats led by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
Reportedly, the meeting was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Kazakhstan Alexei Borodavkin, Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Nikolai Udovichenko, Ambassador to Tajikistan Igor Lyakin-Frolov and Ambassador to Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on various aspects of regional cooperation and discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation between Central Asia and Russia. Particular attention was paid to security issues, including the situation in Afghanistan.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Andrei Rudenko also held a separate meeting with Russian ambassadors to Central Asia, where he discussed the tasks set by Russian President Vladimir Putin for the Russian diplomatic missions. The meeting also analyzesd the impact of the current situation in the Central Asian region on major neighboring and out-of-region countries.
