The draft Approval of qualification requirements for personnel required for operation of nuclear power plants Resolution was posted for public input on Tuesday by UzAtom Agency.
The Resolution was developed in accordance with the clause 6 of Annex 2 to the President’s Approval of Human Resource Development Strategy for Uzbekistan’s Nuclear Energy Program Decree.
The purpose of the draft is to increase the capacity of personnel involved in the operation of nuclear power plants and ensure the safety of nuclear power plants by setting qualification requirements for personnel required to operate nuclear power plants, taking into account the recommendations of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Reportedly, the qualification requirements are determined in accordance with Section 3 of the International Atomic Energy Agency's safety guidelines "Recruitment, training and education of personnel for nuclear power plants."
The Resolution stipulates qualification requirements for 84 positions required for the operation of nuclear power plants.
Qualification requirements are determined by the following categories of NPP employees: managers - 39 positions; engineering and technical staff - 29 positions (engineers and technicians); employees - 3 positions (directly involved in the operation of facilities); workers - 11 positions (operators, laboratory assistants).
Qualification requirements are determined in accordance with the National Qualifications Framework, the main positions of employees and the classifier of occupations of workers and the International Standard Classification of Occupations, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers’ Measures to organize the national system of professional skills, knowledge and skills in Uzbekistan Resolution.
