On April 15, the Uzbek Foreign Minister, Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development of the French Republic, Jean-Marc Ayrault, who arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit.

During the bilateral talks on March 29, 2017 in Paris, the ministers discussed the state of the Uzbek-French relations in the political, trade-economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other areas, exchanged views on the regional and international issues, the press service of the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.

It was noted that the signed inter-MFA Cooperation Program for 2017-2018 allows to develop and strengthen on a systematic basis the multifaceted Uzbek-French ties.

The ministers paid particular attention to the prospects for advancing cooperation in the context of Uzbekistan's Five-Area Development Strategy for 2017-2021. In particular, the sides confirmed their interest in the successful outcome of the visit in June of French businesses circles to Uzbekistan under the auspices of the Movement of French Enterprises, MEDEF International.

In the meeting was also present the French Ambassador, Violaine de Villemeur.
