The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking Stateson November 12 in Istanbul , which will henceforth be called the Organization of Turkic States, said the President’s spokesman Sherzod Asadov.

“Even during the difficult period of the pandemic, we are trying to expand our partnership ties, help each other, and gradually advance our ties,” the president said.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev called on the member states of the organization to make full use of previously untapped opportunities and put forward a number of initiatives:

  • create comfortable and attractive conditions for expanding trade relations within the organization;
  • replace goods coming from third world countries with products that can be produced in the member states of the organization;
  • to organize a research center for trade cooperation of the Turkic states;
  • to develop a program of interaction in the field of transport of the organization of the Turkic states;
  • to organize engineering and technology centers on the basis of specialized organizations in the Member States;
  • next year, hold a week of industry of the Turkic states in Uzbekistan.

In his speech, Shavkat Mirziyoyev touched upon the situation in Afghanistan.

“It is extremely important to prevent the country from falling into a humanitarian crisis, isolation, and turning into a den of terrorists,” the President stressed. “In dialogue with the new Afghan government, our stances must be coordinated and solidary,” he underscored.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev also proposed to hold the first summit of the renewed Organization of Turkic States next year in Uzbekistan.
