In order to discuss the prospects for cooperation and the implementation of joint educational, scientific, practical and investment projects, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuala Lumpur organized a visit of the founder and president of the Management & Science University of Malaysia (Management & Science University - MSU) Mohd Shukri to Uzbekistan.
Founded in 2001, MSU is one of the leading private universities in Malaysia, offering a wide range of educational programs in economics, humanities and social sciences, including in business administration, medicine, management, education, tourism, marketing, engineering and ICT, Dunyo reported.
During the stay, the MSU delegation held substantive negotiations with the leadership of the Ministries of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIFT), higher and secondary specialized education, tourism and sports, health care, governor’s offices of Bukhara, Navoi, Samarkand and Tashkent provinces. From among the higher educational institutions, the delegation visited the Bukhara and Samarkand state universities, the Navoi State Pedagogical Institute and the Silk Road International Tourism University in Samarkand.
During the meeting at the MIFT, the Malaysian delegation was thoroughly familiarized with the conditions created in Uzbekistan for carrying out entrepreneurial and investment activities, including within the framework of free economic zones.
The Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education discussed promising plans for academic and scientific cooperation, the possibility of opening a branch of the University of Management and Science in Uzbekistan, projects on the mobility of students and staff of universities, academic exchange. An agreement was reached on the allocation of grants for the training of students of universities in Uzbekistan under the programs of a Malaysian university.
In addition, during the visit of the delegation in Uzbekistan, visits to large industrial enterprises of the republic were organized to get acquainted with the industrial potential of the country.
